Miki Matsumaru JSCCP
Miki earned her BA in Psychology at Reading University in the United Kingdom and graduated with her master's degree in Psychology from Sophia University in Tokyo. She is a Japan Society of Certified Clinical Psychologists licensed Clinical Psychologist (Nihon Rinshou Shinrishi).
She works in English and Japanese with children, adolescents and adults with depression, anxiety, eating disorder, stress-related issues, family relationship problems, school refusal, developmental disorders, difficulties in cultural adjustment and identity issues. Her orientation in counseling is a client-centered approach combining solution-focused brief therapy and cognitive behavioral therapy.
Miki always endeavors to offer a warm and comfortable environment within counseling so the client can relax. "I like to help people discover the resources within themselves and use them to work out their problems. It is always my hope that people who come to counseling can be seen with a smile when they leave the counseling room."
