Counseling Psychologist

Taeko Goto M.A.

Taeko is a counseling psychologist who was awarded her Master Degree in Counseling Psychology from Michigan State University. She worked as a school counselor for Wardcliff Elementary School and McDonald Middle School from 1999 to 2000. Since returning to Japan, Taeko has been working as a counseling psychologist at ICC and is experienced in counseling in English and Japanese with individuals, couples and families dealing with various counseling issues such as stress, depression, anxiety, domestic violence, parent-child and/or husband-wife relationships, self assertion and social skills training.

Taeko's basic counseling approach is Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. She strongly believes people have the will to grow. Her main goal in therapy is to help her clients regain their will and confidence by warmly supporting them through a mutually trusting relationship so that they can "free themselves from their mental barriers and also explore and express themselves more deeply and in so doing, improve the quality of their lives".
