Ms Kakurai is a Japan Society of Clinical Psychologists licensed Clinical Psychologist, She received her Masters degree in Counseling Psychology from New York University. Her counseling center work in American and Tokyo counseling facilities includes providing individual counseling to students and adults with personal issues such as anxiety, depression, trauma, stress management, career planning, cultural adjustment and inter-cultural relationships.

She is also experienced in supporting chronically ill patients in hospital. In counseling sessions Yuki concentrates on "establishing a trusting environment and entering into the clients' subjective world with sensitivity for developmental, dynamic and cultural issues".
