About Ikebukuro Counseling Center

Ikebukuro Counseling Center (ICC) is an independent counseling center in Tokyo providing individual, couples, family counseling and related group therapy services for Tokyo area residents. Counseling services are available in English, French and Japanese, and are provided by counselors, psychologists and psychotherapists who are licensed in Japan to provide psychological support services. Naturally each individual counselor and therapist varies the approach used with individual clients. However it is fair to say that our common approach is person centered with respect shown to adapt counseling to suit the aims and specific needs of each individual client. Cognitive therapy, cognitive behavioural therapy and personal centered therapy.

Medical Support - National Health Insurance

Ikebukuro Counseling Center is a JSCCP approved counseling. The center enjoys a close working relationship with Hozumi Clinic, a licensed medical clinic specializing in psychiatric consultation, diagnosis and treatment services. In situations where both client and counselor agree that the client may benefit from medical support or consultation with a psychiatrist for psychiatric treatment, we can arrange for an introduction to the duty psychiatrist at the medical center, unless of course the client is already receiving treatment from her or his own doctor. The clinc, as a licensed medical center in Japan, accepts the Japanese National Health Insurance Card.
